Here’s a taster from some product photography I’ve just shot for Watershed Packaging’s new web site. I met their brief with professional well-lit photographs to show their packaging in context with the products they’re applied to.
I used a three-point studio lighting set-up against an infinity wall. That’s a soft-box as the main light, an umbrella to fill in any shadows and a flashgun to add a delicate touch of rim-light. The effect is a sort of halo-effect on product photography, that really makes an item look three-dimensional and pop out from a web page. Just take a look the lipstick product photo above to see it in action.
