The footer of my website is different, that can only mean one thing: I’ve moved offices. In this case, from Heart in Headingley to Futurelabs in Leeds. Three years in one place felt like long enough; Heart was decent but I craved some new scenery to refresh my outlook.
Futurelabs is right in the centre of Leeds on Eastgate – close the central artery of the Headrow. That makes getting to the office a shorter commute for me, and my clients in Leeds, so I’m more inclined to rejoin the beating heart of British commerce, more frequently.
First impressions of Futurelabs are positive. The community is friendly, and there’s a healthy rotation of faces everyday. I’ve yet to regret having a chance conversation with someone new in the kitchen – something one misses when working sporadically from home.
There’s nice overlap too. Futurelabs professes to be a tech community, and as a freelance copywriter with a background in computer science and plenty of experience in digital, perhaps I can help out my fellow coworkers on a project or two. I like to keep things local too – Leeds is my city and it’s nice to feel like a part of something vibrant.
My new, full office address in Leeds is on my contact page.
